One of the "must see" places on Oahu is The Historic Sites at Pearl Harbor. So off we went.
Luke and Michael sitting in the gunner seat from a battle ship.
They have a couple museum rooms which are full of info, pictures and items from the around the 1940s. Including models like this one.
The last time I was here the winds were too strong to go out to the USS Arizona Memorial. This time the weather was great and we boarded the boat to the memorial.
A lei floating above the sunken USS Arizona.
Oil is still leaking out of the haul slowly.
This is a gun turret mount on the top of the battleship. The ship sunk upright.
Here are a few pictures of the memorial that was built above the sunken USS Arizona.
The whole ship is under water except the black circles. The white part in this picture is the memorial.
On our way home we stopped in downtown and checked out St Andrew's Cathedral. Building started on this Church in 1865 (It has had three main additions each one making it longer.) and was the church used by King Kamehameha V.
This large glass window was designed in 1958. And if you look closely you can see Jesus on a surfboard!
Hang Ten with Jesus. Although i'm not sure it was meant to be a surfboard.
Now to end the day with a nice walk. Topher, knowing the importance of staying hydrated, came prepared for the walk.
