Aside from just being excited to spend time with CJ and Danille while they were visiting; We were also excited to show them some filming sites for the
TV show LOST. As I have mentioned in past blogs the entire show of LOST was filmed on the island of Oahu (except about four scenes). Topher, Myself, and our visitors being big LOST fans, had to take time and get some good pictures. This often meant I was scrolling through on my phone finding screen shoots and then holding it up while Topher or Danielle held the camera and directed us on where to stand for the picture. We got a number of funny looks but it was worth it. If you are not interested in LOST this is not the post for you, if you are a fan I hope you like our pictures, and if you are still watching or plan on watching I'll try not to put in to many spoilers but I do have to describe the scenes. Oh and by the way the the picture on the left we took, and the picture on the right is from the show.
This is The Waikiki Landmark building. It is the building where John Lock "fell" out of the window. |

Next we move down the road not even a half mile and make it to the Sydney Airport, AKA, The Hawaii Convention Center. You'll notice they did add some set pieces and changed a couple signs. |

You can see here they didn't change all the signs though. I'm not sure what King Kamehameha is doing with a room in Australia. |

Many scenes were shot in downtown Honolulu. This location is St. Andrew, Episcopal Cathedral. Not only was this the actual Queen of Hawaii's church, it served as many locations for LOST. In this screenshot it is being used as a monastery in Scotland where Desmond helped make wine. |

We now go into the arches from the background of the last shot and are magically transported to The University of Oxford in The United Kingdom. |

If you watched the show you already know what this site is, but did you know it is actually a YMCA. The LOST crew painted all the cabins before they used them, and apparently since the show someone decided to paint all the white trim brown. |

This location by the North shore is not quite as iconic but Kate buried something very important under this tree. They used a lot of fog machines for the shot. |

These falls have shown up many times in my posts but they also were shown at least twice in LOST as the location of the gun case and in the last season here Jack jumps off the top. I wonder if they waited for a day there was a lot of water falling or if they added some. |

This picture is from Sacred Hearts Academy. It is the location for the last episode. Being as it is an all girls school I thought we should ask permission before we wondered around. A week before I emailed the School and asked if we could come take a look around. They said yes and would even give us a nice little tour. Turns out the lady I emailed was also a LOSTie. She showed us around and told us some interesting facts. Since the show was so secretive, when the crew came in to film there was only one person from the school allowed to be there and they were sworn to secrecy until after the show aired. She also told us about how the school needed to repair a large stain glass window in the chapel but did not have the money to do so. Then the show came to them and asked if they could film in the Chapel and would of course pay them for it. As this would pay for the window and the crew said they would be reverent in the area, the School agreed. Plus the crew already had a great reputation for their kokua (respect) of the sites they used. |

If you liked this post come back for my next post which will have a few more LOST locations. Also I believe Topher's blog will have some more staged pictures later.
Good show Dave. Your's and their's is a novel way of showing your photos.
