Swiming with the Birds

My parents got back to Oahu so our exploring continues. We are starting this day off with a trip to Hanauma Bay for some quality snorkeling.

The lights in the parking lot here are not only solar powered but also wind powered. Sadly they don't work that well.

You have to walk down that crater wall to get to the beach but it's worth it.

This little guy was just hanging out on the beach.

My parents snorkeling in the bay.

My dad prefered bird watching over fish watching.

This is what he saw.

This is what we saw. This is a hawaiian lagoon triggerfish.

"One Fish...

...Two Fish...

...Red Fish...

...Blue Fish"

Here's a sea cucumber.

Honu with my mom in the background.

View walking back up the ridge.

This was my view when I go to the top...

...this was my parents view.

Did you know Hawaii gets communications from the mainland by wires that are laid in the ocean. The first cable stretching from San Francisco to the Hanauma Bay

To end the day we went to Kaka'ako Waterfront Park to watch the sun set.

I feel bad for kids that never get to go sled riding in the snow. But they were having a great time with their cardboard.

There are cats everywhere on this island.

A sunset cruise boat out enjoying the view.

It's almost gone.

The sun's down but there is still plenty of light to keep fishing.

This is just a weird fruit like thing we found.
