Another fun filled day of Hawaii sightseeing planed for today.
We went to Pearl Harbor Historic Sites in the morning to make sure we got tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial.
The USS Bowfin was first launched on December 7, 1942.
This flag tallies the targets the submarine and and it's crew were able to shoot down. The picture in the bottom right indicates that it shot down a crane and a bus. The only submarine to shoot a bus.
Inside one of the small museums.
The remains of gun turret number three sticking up above sea level.
The names of all the men still below on the USS Arizona.
Leaving Pearl Harbor we traveled North up the H2 to the Dole plantation.
These two pictures are of a rainbow eucalyptus .
Here's a little pineapple.
After getting our fill of Dole Whip we continued North for some snorkeling at Sharks Cove.
We found a lot of fish...
...and some turtles...
...and an eel.
Plus a few more fish.
My dad prefers his feet planted on solid ground.
A few balancing rocks by the sea.
We left our sandals in the watchful eyes of the crabs for safe keeping.
We watched another sunset on the North Shore.
We stopped in Haleiwa for dinner. No smoking by the propane tank but open flames are okay.
