Surfing...

I had my first attempt at surfing on Friday. Now I knew it was a very exhausting sport so that did not surprise me at all. However I underestimated the amount of patience it takes to surf in an area that does not have constant big waves. Why would I surf in an area like that you ask. Well you see I don't have a car so I have to walk about a mile to the nearest beach carrying an over 7 foot surfboard though the city streets. This walk also lead to my vampire like tendances the next few days. The problem was I walked quite a way to the beach when I realized I had not put on any sun screen. I was excited about surfing for the first time so turning around did not seem like a plausible option. To make a long story short all of my back and shoulders, my upper arms, the front of my upper legs and, the back of my lower legs were all a nice red color. When this much of you body is burnt, the best plan of action is to just stay inside out of the sun and not to move. So that is what I did for a couple days. But aside from that I did manage to ride a few little waves and catch one awesome wave and ride it for a while.

I bought this bottle of aloe the same evening this was taken. I guess I went through it pretty fast.

Just a picture I took of some surfers.
