Circle Island Tour (Part 1)

Topher took me on a tour of the island, Topher Style. Warning for anyone who comes to visit: If Kris says he is going to plan a fun filled day for you, say thank you, that will be great. Then tell him to cross off every other thing on the list. Unless of course you are an Iron-man. Okay, it was not as bad as it seemed like it was going to be after the first two activities.

To start the day off we had to get up before the sun. We then drove to Diamond Head for a little walk. Also let me tell you, Topher specifically said we don't need shoes for the day, just slippers (that's what they call flip flops here).

Getting your picture taken by the sign is the cool thing to do, there was quite a long line for it. As you can tell we did not wait.

There were a lot of other people who thought it was a good idea to get up this early.

Look, a lighthouse, there are not many of them here.

After that our tummies were rumbly. So we stopped at a cactus garden for breakfast.

No wait that's not right. We stopped at the farmers market for breakfast.

The next part of our tour was driving through a Hawaii subdivision of rich people. We were looking for Dog the bounty hunters house. We didn't find it but afterward Topher looked it up so I'll post a picture later of his place.

On this nice drive around, we found a scenic over look.

If you look really close you might be able see a path that goes straight up this mountain. When I saw it I said to Topher, hey it looks like there is a path straight up. To which his response was a quite sarcastic, Oh really? So then I knew this would be the next stop on our tour. Reminder, Kris told me not to bring shoes for the day.

On our way.

I posted the walk up earlier so I]ll leave those pictures out. But here is just one more. Also note as we were walking up numerous people commented on how we were either awesome or dumb for walking up in slippers.

I might have yelled at Topher for making me walk all the way up this along with the last hike all before 9:30 am if the view had not been worth it.

Panoramic looking South-West from the top of Koko Crater.

Next we went to Halona Blowhole Lookout. It was not very exciting. But I still took a lot of pictures.
I guess I should be in at least one picture. To prove I'm actually here.

And that concludes part one of my circle island tour. Part two coming soon!

  1. This sounds like fun! I hope Topher plans a day like this for me... I'll wear better shoes though.

Where's that key you promised... the one that tells me who everyone is on Topher's blog???
