My first visitors came came on June 13. It was my sister, niece, nephew, and friend of the family. They arrived in the evening so the 13th was just eating, talking about what to do the rest of the week, and sleeping. The sleeping was very important for in the coming week that would become a scarce activity.
Day One
The first actual day they were here we could not go play on the beach because of the Box Jellyfish invasion. Instead we went to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and looked around.
The Cemetery has some beautiful flowers. Here is a patch of Birds of Paradise flowers.
Here is the Hawaiian Hibiscus. It's Hawaii's state flower
From the top of the crater ridge around the cemetery there is a great view of Honolulu.
The kids (and Carolyn) were very fascinated by the roaches on this flower so we had to get a good picture of them before we moved on.
From there we went on a hike through the tropical forest to Manoa Falls. It is a very scenic hike through the forest with many types of plants.
Here is a section of the hike with lots of bamboo.
These Banyan trees formed a nice arch over the trail.
We made it to the falls; It's snack time!
The whole group
Just hanging out.
Had to get a picture of the kids with this heart shaped stump to send to their dad.
The next two pictures are of an awesome natural jungle gym.
Whenever you are in Hawaii, anytime is a good time to hula.

Day Two
The Jelly fish invasion has left. Apparently they could not find any peanut-butter bread. (Don't worry I know I'm funny, you don't have to tell me.) So that means Beach Time!
Ready to catch some waves
Unfortunately the board was to big for him.
Time to find some fish...
We found a hula-ing mermaid!
Surf lessons
Swing from a crazy root tree.
Evening show at the Hilton
I think she learned some new moves from the show.
Fun in the sun can really wear you out.
